VIDEOGRAPHY

Videos are pushed heavily by social media platforms so if you post them they can go far, but like anything in this modern world they need to be good quality or they will be left by the wayside.

I make 30 seconds to 2-minute shorts for social media, and belive me shorter is better! Anything over 2 minutes and you have lost all the attention you gained.

A social media film can take a couple of hours to half a day to film and all the planning and editing is included in the cost, so there are no added extras.

To make life easier you can review the work online as it progresses, giving you input and making sure you get exactly what you want.

Social media films are provided digitally as a link or a download as you require.

Do you need a to demonstrate a product to your potential customers? explain how you're working as part of a grant or justify spending. Do you want to simply explain what you do or how to do something then a sort film is often one of the best ways, long gone are the days of arriving with 20 people and a budget to suit, now its much less imposing, and interferes with real-life much less, and usually just one or 2 people in the crew, and of course the price reflects that too.

A 5-10 minute film can take as little as half a day to film and all the planning and editing is included in the cost. so no added extras.

Videography & Filmmaking

I produce short, professional films for charities, community organisations, and public sector projects across Cumbria and the Lake District.

Most of the work I’m commissioned for is about capturing something real — a project in action, the impact of funding, or the story behind a piece of work. The focus is on creating films that are clear, engaging, and genuinely useful, whether that’s for reporting, promotion, or social media.

Short films that work

I specialise in short-form filmmaking — typically 1–3 minute films that are easy to watch, easy to share, and tailored for use across websites, presentations, and social platforms.

Alongside this, I capture high-quality stock footage during each shoot. This gives you a bank of usable content that can be repurposed for social media, ongoing promotion, and future campaigns.

A photographic approach to film

My background as a professional photographer shapes how I approach filmmaking. Each shot is composed with the same attention to light, framing, and detail you would expect from a still image.

This means the footage doesn’t just document what’s happening — it presents it in a way that feels considered and visually strong. It’s often the difference between something that simply records an activity, and something that holds attention and reflects the quality of the work being done.

How I work

Filming is usually done in a natural, unobtrusive way. I keep equipment light and work around what’s already happening, rather than staging or interrupting it.

This approach tends to result in more authentic footage and helps people feel at ease on camera — particularly important when working in community settings or with individuals who may not be used to being filmed.
